Drinking Coffee May Prevent Heart Failure

Coffee Consumption May Prevent Heart FailureA recent study published in the journal Circulation Heart Failure appears to indicate that coffee consumption can reduce the risk of heart failure in coffee drinkers. This is great news to the 5.8 million Americans who suffer from heart failure currently and even greater news to those who will suffer heart failure in the near future.

Heart failure is a condition in which the heart is not sufficiently strong to pump blood to the far reaches of the body, and this condition is on the rise as the obesity epidemic truly settles into the American population.

However, two American-sized servings of coffee a day appears to combat this condition, giving the circulatory system just the boost it needs to pump essential blood to the outer limbs. If you are a regular coffee drinker, then you are already receiving this benefit from your daily brew. After learning about coffee’s potential long-term mental benefits, this news has many wondering if there is anything coffee isn’t good for!

While the study does not prove that coffee is medicine to the heart, it does indicate that coffee may offer health benefits to those already suffering from heart failure, and this is just one of the many health benefits coffee seems to offer according to study after study.

Certainly, you should drink your favorite brew, whether that is light roast, medium roast, or dark roast, but a great idea is to drink your coffee brewed from fresh coffee beans. Whole coffee beans are an effective natural packaging that seals in the coffee compounds and flavors more effectively than ground coffee.

If grinding your own beans is not your preferred method or you are just too short on time to put in the effort, consider single cup coffee options like Keurig K-Cups. These coffee capsules have an added advantage in that they are vacuum-sealed after roasting to ensure the coffee stays fresh, and fresh coffee is more likely to preserve those elements that make coffee actually good for you.
