Are You Paying Too Much for Iced CoffeeA recent survey found some surprising information about American coffee habits, and one of the most shocking details revealed in the survey rung loudly after this week’s earlier iced chai latte post. Apparently  60% of Americans freely admit to spending upwards of five dollars on a single iced coffee, and additionally, 34% of Americans have never even made an iced coffee themselves. Folks, we need to correct this. Iced coffee is one of the easiest warm weather treats to enjoy, and with the advances in single cup coffee brewing technology, enjoying a nice frosty cup of iced coffee has never been easier to enjoy.

Iced Coffee from Single Cup Coffee Makers

Iced coffee is simple to make. Your options are plentiful, but when it comes down to it, it is as simple as brewing coffee and then pouring that coffee over ice. Most prefer to add sweeteners to the ice before pouring the coffee over the ice, and if you prefer creamer of any sort, it should be the final step aside from stirring. If you own a Keurig K-Cup Coffee Maker or a Tassimo T-Disc Coffee Maker, then making an iced coffee is even easier and should only cost you pocket change instead of a portrait of Abraham Lincoln. So if you are one of those unfortunate many who pays upwards of five dollars for an iced coffee, do yourself a favor and invest in a single cup coffee maker. You’ll save money in the long run. With K-Cup or T-Disc single cup coffee makers, simply prepare a glass with ice in it and add your sweetener, then brew directly onto the ice! It’s that simple. With the many T-Disc and K-Cup options available, finding a coffee that you enjoy over ice should be a breeze. I prefer dark roast coffee over ice, but perhaps you will find a bright and zesty light roast is more your speed. Yearning for a chain coffee shop frappe drink? Simply make your iced coffee as usual and pour it into a blender with additional ice; blend until frosty and save yourself five dollars.
