Not worth the cost
Only on the smallest cup size setting will any chocolate flavor come through. Rather costly for what you get, essentially 50cent six oz. cup. Disapointing.

Weak, Watery, No Sweetness
The only way I can make this awful stuff taste like real cocoa is to brew it on the 5 oz setting, use 2 in a large mug and then add cream AND whipped cream to it. I love cocoa and I'm still on the 1st box, the 2nd one is going up on Ebay.
If you're a person who doesn't like the sweetness of most cocoas, then perhaps you'd enjoy it, but I find myself wanting to add sugar and real cocoa powder to it.
By itself, it's bland, weak & horrendously watery. I've had diet cocoa that tasted better. I can't even imagine what an 8 oz cup would taste like.
You can use any hot cocoa mix with the Keurig, just set the cup size appropriately.
The Ghiradelli is good, but ridiculously overpriced.

Not Creamy... Watery
I will not purchase these k-cups again. While it does have a chocolate flavor, it is water-down tasting. There is no creaminess. My children did not like it either. And they are the best judges of hot cocoa.

I don't have a definitive answer (I had to look VERY hard to find the 2012 on the cocoa), but I expect it had something to do with a packaging or labeling expiration than with a CONSUME BY date. Dry products usually have a far longer shelf life.
My husband drinks 3-4 cups of this cocoa every day and has seen no decrease in flavor.

Green Mountain discontinued this item last year, and the remaining stock we have left has a "Best By" date of December 2012. Drinking the product beyond this date is in no way harmful, it just may slowly lose some of its flavor over time, which is why we sell it at a discount.

I think that is true. Some of the freshness is gone from these. Some were a bit hard inside. The cups did not empty fully when the hot water went through. I did use a spoon to get the rest of the chocolate out of the cup and into the hot water.

I think it does mean it is passed the freshness date, but we have been ordering it for over a year and it tastes great. This is our favorite flavor of hot cocoa.
