A shopper asked:Are the soft pods for the 4-cup coffee makers? How would they work for a single cup coffee maker like the Black and Decker single 16oz cup? What would you recommend for an 8 or 16oz single cup machine?Mar 8, 2013
SueEllen C:I haven't tried these particular pods yet but I have used other Melitta pods for an 8-10 oz cup they are very good. I have tried different coffee makers and have found that to make the biggest difference in the quality of the finished cup. Currently, I am using a Bunn "My Cafe" coffeemaker and in my experience it is worth the cost.. It allows you to use up to 14 oz of water per cup so you can adjust the strength to suit your taste. It also has a chamber that keeps the water pre-heated so it is fast. I tried the Black and Decker maker and it didn't work well at all. The coffee was like dishwater and I sent the maker back. I also had the Krups single cup maker that I used for several years. It made really good coffee but the pods often didn't fit well in their holder, burst open and clogged the outlet, which is nearly impossible to clean. Hope this helps you. There is nothing like a good cup of coffee.Mar 25, 2013
carol k:I suppose that you could use 4 pods for a 4 cup machine or 2 pods for a 16oz machine, but I would not. Way too expensive. For the type of machines you are referring to i would loose coffee grounds that you can measure. If you want pods you can search for a machine online and they will have a picture of those pods next to the machine. by far the best machine I have found to use the disk pods with is the Senseo single serve coffee maker. For some reason they stopped making them fora a while, but they might be back in production again because I see them available online.Mar 25, 2013
David W:Melitta soft pods will not work to well in a 4 cup coffee maker. Would not be enough coffee grounds, unless you tried 2 pods at a time, that might work. They may work in a single cup maker if you can position the pod in the filter basket just right, but still not recommended probably. For a single cup machine with a cone style filter, you are probably still better off using the traditional coffee grounds. Hope this helps.Mar 25, 2013
Forrest B:I have an old Senseo machine. The Melitta pods (not for the 1:1) work great in my Senseo. I have no experience with the Black and Decker machines, so I couldn't say whether they would work with that machine or not.Mar 24, 2013
Leona B:No they are not for 4 cup coffee maker. If the Black and Decker single take the cups no this will not work. This product works in machine Senseo or Hamilton Beach pod coffeemakers.Mar 26, 2013
CustomerServiceStaff:The Melitta Soft Pods are intended for use in single cup brewers using between 6-10 ounces of water per cup. Each pod is intended to only brew one cup.Mar 11, 2013
Socrates A:I use it for the Senseo I or 2 pod machines. These pods are meant for no more than 6 to 10 ounce cup each at most otherwise it will be weak.Mar 25, 2013
