The idea is great, however the K-cup is not fully delivering the hot cocoa. After the K-Cup is processed through the machine, I open the used K-cup and at least half the cocoa has not been used and is still dry. I pour the remaining cocoa into the cup and stir.
This defeats the purpose of having the K-cup delivery via the machine. Too much work.
Trick to Hot Chocolate, is using K cup as usual, then, take out K cup, peel back cover and dump the rest of the powder into your mug. Not as efficient as coffee K-cups, but, flavorful once all powder is used. I let my son make his cocoa, much safer for him than boiling water - he does well with this, not too messy.
I would recommend this product for the convenience factor alone. The flavor is OK compared to powder products so it blends well and there's no mess. I wouldn't use this on a regular basis because of the high coconut oil fat content. I wouldn't use it on the kids regularly.
Really bad. Weak, doesn't taste like chocolate, a disgrace to hot chocolate everywhere. I wish it weren't so. Easy hot chocolate would be great, but this just isn't the way to get it.
Ash,
With the hot chocolate K-Cup you are supposed to use the smallest cup setting so that little water is used. This makes a nice cup of hot chocolate. It is not gross. It is the easiest and quickest way to make a cup of hc...
My wife loves coffee, but I dont. So I love the fact that there are Hot Cocoa K-Cups. It was one of the main reasons I chose this coffee making system, so we can both enjoy what we like with the ease of using the K-Cup. I love the flavor of the Hot Cocoa but it can be weak if you use the larger cup settings. Follow the instructions and use the smaller cup setting and you will be happy!
Something isn't quite right with this hot chocolate. It tastes very artificial and not chocolately. I'm not sure if there is an artificial sweetner in it, but it sure tastes like it. It has a very odd taste to it. The first time I had it I thought it tasted funny because I hadn't stirred it. That wasn't the case though because the second time it tasted the same. Unfortunately, I got a whole box of it free with my Keurig. Don't buy a whole 18 or 24 pack. If you want to try it I recommend buying a 5 pack or sampler.
I like this hot chocolate because it's not overly sugary sweet. I use the smaller-cup setting to make sure it's chocolatey enough. Also afterwards, I run the extra water cycle through once as the box recommends to make sure the sugar residue doesn't linger for the next cup of coffee or tea. While the Ghirardelli packets are richer-flavored, they are not quite as convenient.
Loving the ease of using my Keurig, I was excited to see the hot chocolate available. I found the Green Mountain not very rich in taste. Even adding whipped cream didn't help the watery taste much.
EEEW! I don't understand how anyone can say this stuff is good! It tastes like water...seriously. It is not creamy, chocolately, or sweet! Anyone that thinks this is good has never had hot chocolate before! Just buy Swiss Miss. Yes, it takes a little more effort to make, but tastes 100 times better. How could Green Mountain market this stuff? Haven't they ever heard of taste tests??

My sons drink a lot of hot chocolate especially in the winter. The K cups have made it so easy for them to help themselves. I enjoy my coffee and they enjoy their hot chocolate. Lifes simple pleasures are sometimes the best!

I enjoy my Keurig machine and the assortment of k-cups available. When the hot chocolate k-cup was finally introduced, my friends who do not drink coffee were very happy to stop by and visit. What a great idea. Thanks.

It has been a few years since Keurig has become mainstream, and they have finally listened to the consumers and have made a hot chocolate K-cup. My wife says Hot Cocoa K-cup but i say hot chocolate. In any case, this product rocks. Thank you Keurig and Green Mountain for answering my chocolate cravings.
