Quick & Simple w/out Leaving Your Home!
We are a household with a wide variety of coffee/tea tastes. Our Tassimo is a hit! Everyone (teenager to "old dog") quickly feels comfortable using it to make their own coffee/tea in the AM. Of course, we switch to decaf in the PM. We are able to save time & money by making our "fancy" Starbucks drinks in the morning at home - more time for sleep!

Great coffee machin!
This is a great coffee machine and is so easy to clean. I love that I can make a latte or just a plain cup of joe! My only problem is that is doesn't come out hot enough and I don't like the idea of microwaving it. Overall, I would highly recommend this machine!

THIS COFFEEPOT IS AWESOME
i use this product everyday all day i love it i get a coffee pot every christmas this one is the best.

Perfect for a coffee lover
I didn't buy this to take the place of my regular full-pot-in-the-AM coffee maker, but I wanted something to make *a* great cup of latte/cappuccino in the afternoon or evening. This machine certainly does that & fast. My addiction to Starbuck's cappuccinos & lattes has just become easier to satisfy.

I've found that the thicker T-discs, which contain creams such as for latte etc., require that you pull the clamping portion (the half-ring on the top of the machine) slightly forward before pushing down. It's a difficult motion to describe ... once you do it you'll know what I'm talking about.
One other thing to consider is that the piercing unit might need to be replaced (you can find this at various online stores on the Internet). I replaced mine recently because I kept finding the pierced bits of the t-disc within the tube that carries the fluid (coffee, cream etc) and was hoping the new piercing unit would prevent this. (It didn't, and I'm wondering if it's just a design flaw in the Tassimo unit.) Apr 12, 2013

First make sure the t disc holder is fully engaged in the machine. If you remove it and place it back in you should hear and feel a click. Second make sure the tab of t disc is properly aligned with the divit in the t disc holder and properly seated. Beyond these two steps there is not much else that can go wrong.
I have had my machine for a little over two years now with an average daily use exceeding four brewing sessions. I have never experienced a t disc that did not pierce.

When I have that problem I just lift the lid back up and wiggle it a bit then push back down with enough force to close it. The one handle sometimes gets in a weird position that doesn't allow it to close all the way, and I do use enough force to get it closed. I wouldn't overly force it, but use enough pressure to get it to lock and pierce, of course it should be pierced automatically once you get it locked down. I hope this helps and this is the problem you described, if not ask again and I try to help with a better answer.

Do not be afraid. Just make sure the disc is properly aligned where it needs to go.. There will always be some amount of resistance, but that is normal. Once you push down and it hits the disc, keep applying pressure as long as it seems to be going through. If it just plain stops and you can't push anymore, then check and see if the tab of the disc is in the right place. I love this machine and it makes great coffee. Best of luck!

I've never had this happen with our machine. The only thing that sometimes happens is the very center of the T disc sometimes gets left behind in the machine so this is something to watch for. If it isn't removed the liquid for the next cup can go everywhere.
We sometimes have to push down pretty hard on the closing mechanism to get it to engage. Again, it's never been a problem with not puncturing the T disc. Apr 12, 2013

If your machine has had a lot of use, if may need a new piercing nozzle. Over a period of time they become dull. A replacement can be ordered it simply pushes out by pushing upward on the discharge nozzle.
I have had several times when the closing lever just needs to be reset. Remove the disk and reinsert and the disk and close the lid.

I've never had that problem and I've had a Tassimo for over 5 years. Slide the disc in and pull down the lid. Sometimes it won't close if so try adjusting the disc a little to one side or the other. Then close the lid down again. Also you may want to take the piercer out and reinsert it. Possibly it's in a bit crooked or not all the way into the slot.

I actually put a lot of pressure on my tassimo machine. In the morning I'm pretty tired so often times I do the one hand slam on it to get the thing going. You do have to break the seal so it's not a "light pressure" deal as with the Keurig machine. Just make sure the handle notch is where it should be and you'll be fine.

It could be that you aren't getting it at quite the right angle - if the joint is bent when it comes down, that might interfere. Or you could try seeing if the disk will shift slighlty in the holder - once if awhiile I've not gotten the disk seated correctly, and that interferes with closing everyrhing properly.

In order to break the seal of the disc, you do have to give it a firm push downward. Obviously, it could be a problem with your specific unit, but I'd try a pretty solid push before giving up. We've been using our Tassimo unit for approx. 5 years. & haven't yet had a problem with pushing too hard.

I have had this machine for a while and have found that its really important to ensure the disc is seated very accurately so that it closes properly. I have never had a problem with them not piercing though. I feel like I can push down the clamp pretty hard and tightly and it has never broken!

Hi I have the same unit and have been pretty aggressive with pushing the top down. I know what you are saying because with the new safety feature it almost sounds like something is going to snap but again i have been fairly forceful with no ill effects. Hope this helps!

IT IS NOT THE T DISC BUT PROBABLY THE WAY YOU ARE DEPRESSING THE PIERCING MECHANISM. THE OUTER RING OF THE TOP NEEDS TO STAY ON AN UPWARD ANGLE UNTIL THE CENTER PORTION HAS PIERCED THEN THE RING GOES DOWN TO LOCK. A LITTLE TRICKY BUT ONCE YOU KNOW IT EASY TO USE.

Yes you have to apply lots of pressure to it. Just make sure the disc is in there correctly and it should be fine. I've had mine for two years now and knock on wood we have not broke it.

I've never had the problem. You should only push down on the silver ring to be able to pierce the disk. No need to push on the black center.

Make sure the disc is settled in the holder. Also, the machine in very sturdy. You can press down hard.
