Keurig Green Mountain Inc. announced a voluntary recall today of its MINI Plus Brewing Systems. The affected model series sold through CoffeeForLess.com was known as the Keurig Mini Plus B31 K-Cup Brewer (the machine is now identified as the K10 series). The identification number for the affected brewers starts with “31” and is printed at the bottom of the machine. No additional brewing machines or models are affected.
Keurig is offering a free repair kit to fix the potential issue for anyone with a recalled brewer machine. It is best to check with Keurig to see if your machine is affected. Please visit Keurig’s Safety Recall Notice page for additional information, including the reason for the recall and action required for all end users. To arrange for a free repair kit, customers that purchased this machine with CoffeeForLess.com may contact Keurig directly at 1-844-255-7886.
As Keurig mentions in its statement, you may continue to use the B31 machine, but cautions against brewing two cups in rapid succession, and to maintain an arm's length distance from the brewer during the brewing process.
If you've purchased the machine through CoffeeForLess.com as a gift, it is best to contact the recipient to let them know of the safety update.
The recall is for units produced prior to July 2014, and only includes the B31 model (now sold as K10).
