  2. Is there a specific machine we should look at for tea making? One thing I didn’t see mentioned at all here is different temperatures – like boiling for black, rooibos and most herbal teas, as opposed to 150-160F for green tea, with other specific temperatures for oolong and white teas. For example, our office keurig would make white tea bitter because it brews it too hot. And that’s not even getting into steeping times, which vary from 2 minutes or less to 8 minutes. Our Keurig spits out your drink in well under a minute, so how can it possibly make *any* tea just by using a "my k-cup" in this machine?

  3. All of the Keurig machines will brew tea with the My K-Cup filter, but obviously the models that give you more control of brew volume and such give you more options in terms of strength.

    The reason the Keurig machines can brew tea so quickly is because both K-Cups and the My K-Cup add the element of pressure to the steeping equation. This pressure speeds extractions in ways low-pressure steeping does not, meaning the compounds in tea are extracted faster.

  4. I have read in a lot of places that the My K-cup will brew loose tea leaves. My question is: how much loose leaf tea do I put in it? Also, which machine is best? Since Kuerig doesn’t recommend loose leaf tea I don’t think they will provide this information in the directions.
